Tres Baubles

Hello and welcome back to my happy place!   I have a quick card to share with you today that features a distress ink background that I made on a scrap piece of paper months ago and almost threw in the trash.  I was in one of those bored moments where I started to throw down ink as a moment of "therapy" and threw in a junk pile.  I am so glad to have come across it by accident today as I think it made a pretty and pink Holiday card.  I quickly added a die cut to the background and a heat embossed sentiment and came up with this card for a friend.   This time of year, I find myself needing to make quick cards because of the volume that I send out and am so thankful when it comes together well.   I hope that you all had a Happy Thanksgiving and hope you have a fun Black Friday!

Products used:  white/cranberry card stock, white pearls, Distress Oxide inks, festive berries/barn door/ aged mahogany, Recollections white embossing powder, Versamark ink, Scandi Christmas sentiment stamp, Tattered Lace Art Deco Baubles

Thankful for Coloring Time

Hi and welcome back to my crafty place.  I'd like to take a second and wish my US friends, a Happy Thanksgiving.   I have so much to be thankful for such as, God, my family, country and friends.  This morning I had some down time as my hubby is making Thanksgiving dinner, so took Kit and Clowder's November 2019 markers class this morning.  I learned a lot, and have a lot to continue to practice, but for the first go round it's okay.  I thought I'd share my work in process.  I do love adding snow with a gel pen as it helps take away from minor mistakes you make. lol

Hi and welcome back to my crafty place.   I have a few cards to share with you featuring distress oxide night time sky backgrounds and nativity scene.  I received these die cuts from a swap two years ago, and finally got around to using them!   I chose several colors of distress oxides and blended them roughly on a piece of Canson XL water color paper and then spritzed them with water.  After letting them dry over night I stamped the sentiment with Versafine ink and the North Star with Versamark and heat embossed it.   I think the cards came together nicely, and even though they feature the same products, they both came out differently!

Products used:  White/black card stock, Canson XL water color paper, Distress oxide inks blue print sketch/mermaid lagoon, squeezed lemonade/seedless preserves, Colorado Stamp co Bethlehem's Light stamp set, Versafine onyx black ink, VersaMark ink, Hero Arts silver embossing powder, and die cuts are unknown from a swap.

Joy, Merrry and Bright

Hello and welcome back to my crafty space.  Today I am sharing two cards featuring Spellbinders Joy Etched die set.  I used silver metallic card stock for the word joy and for the traditional colored card I used red and green to accent the foliage.  The teal colored card kept a white and silver palette.  The cards were super quick to make, but I think they are beautiful Christmas cards.   This year teal and silver have been my favorite go to colors for Christmas, but of course red and silver are traditionally my favorite.

Products used: white/silver/red/ green card stock, square rhinestones, white pearls, Gina K Merry and Bright sentiment, Versafine Onyx black ink, Spellbinders Joy Etched die set, and Spellbinders Hemstitch rectangle die set.

I love that Jammie encourages her followers to share their work and wanted to play along.  Maybe go check out her page?    I typically don't pick masculine images, so this got me a little out of my comfort zone, but I think it turned out well.  I colored Harley Claus with copic markers, and for the background quickly blended distress oxides for the sky.  I used Picket Fence Distress Ink to splatter a little snow too.   My card is 5x7 as i thought it suited the image better.  Without further ado...

Psalm 119:28

Hi and welcome back to my crafty space.  This morning I have a bible journaling page to share with you.  I recently stumbled upon a company called By The Well 4 God who publishes devotionals that are travel notebook sized (my new love) and all the ephemera and stamps to go with them to help your creative process along.  I am new to bible journaling as it is hard for me to mark up the pages of a bible, which is why I purchased the Day Spring, Illustrating Bible.  I love this bible because it has wide margins to decorate, create, or write in.  I have chosen to mostly create in mine and then write in my devotional traveler's notebook so that I can share my work with you.

The Devotional I am Working on is the October devotional, but it is perfect for what I am personally facing right now.  I just love how God works and knows exactly what you need when you need it.  Historically November is a very rough month for me full of heart ache and grief, so A Heart at Rest is perfect for me to work through at the moment.

Psalm 119:28 New International Version (NIV)

My soul is weary with sorrow;

strengthen me according to your word.

Give Thanks

Hi and welcome back!  Today I have a beautiful Thanksgiving card to share with you.  This happens to be one of my favorite stamps from Fun Stampers Journey.  For this card, I stamped the image with Dessert sand Memento ink and then colored it with copics.  I added the sentiment from the same set and heat embossed with copper powder.  I mounted it on gold metallic card stock then to a dsp by Gina K designs.  To get that perfect color ribbon, I colored white sheer ribbon with a burgundy marker.  It was very quick coloring, just like you need it to be for the holidays!

Products used: ivory/cranberry/ metallic gold card stock, Gina K Grateful Heart dsp, memento ink, versamark ink, Judikins Copper embossing powder, copic markers, Fun Stampers Journey Bountiful Thanks stamp set. and sheer ribbon.

Christmas Light Scene

Hello and welcome back!  I have a card to share with you today created from Kit and Clowder's Oct/Nov coloring class featuring Lily of the Valley digital stamps.  I believe this stamp was created specifically for the class as I didn't find it available on the shop, but it's not too late to get the class!!!   The day I colored this I was struggling with a few things, so I decided to take some time for me and take the entire class in one day!  I seriously have never done that before, as I typically start and stop frequently, but I easily got lost in ME time!   I learned a lot of new techniques, but also got to practice a few.   I love how Alyce breaks it down into smaller parts of the image so that you only concentrate on one section at a time.  I also love how she reminds you to be mindful of light source and shadows!   I hope you like my first attempt at this adorable scene!

Products used:  white/teak/cranberry card stock, Martha Stewart dsp, copic markers, white gelly roll pen, and Lily of the Valley stamp created for Kit And Clowder

Light of Bethlem

Good morning and welcome to my crafty space.  Today I am sharing my first real attempt to add a background to a stamped image.  I totally borrowed this from Sandy Allnock, because I watched the linked video and fell in love with the stamp and her project.  I will never claim to have talent, and desperately want to be a colorist so I watch a ton of her videos.  After watching Sandy's video and ordering Bethlehem's Light from the Colorado Stamp Co, I decided to give this a try and followed Sandy's video.  My final picture doesn't come close to my inspiration piece, but I will say I had so much fun coloring this image.  I actually made four of these to give to family members.   I'm very shy about sharing this because I don't like to post imperfect projects of my Lord and Savior, so I ask please be kind in your comments.   And Thank You to Sandy Allnock for sharing her art and teachings.

Money Card Holder

Good morning and welcome back to my crafty place.  Today I bring to you a money card holder featuring an image from Pattie's Creations Digital Images.  At my last craft show I had multiple people ask me for money holder cards, so this was my first chance to make one.  This particular card will be for my step mom because she loves candy canes, and it gave me practice for future creations.   This really is an easy project using one 7.5x 7.5 inch solid card stock and then adding dsp papers.  For an additional fun touch I chose to add a belly band where I mounted Pattie's image!  The image was colored with copics and highlighted the Spectrum Noir sparkle pen.
Please take a minute and checkout what the other designers have to inspire you with over at Pattie's Creations Design Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes for the month of November.  Also you should be able to grab a free image over at the blog too... Run... go.... .

Products used:  cranberry/white/silver metallic card stock/ Recollections dsp, Sizzix dotted circle die, Spellbinders fancy scalloped circle die, EK tools tag punch, red rhinestones, Versafine Onyx black ink, Rhubarb Stalk memento ink, Crop a dile 1/4 inch corner rounder, Gina K Merry Christmas to you sentiment stamp, and Pattie's Creations, Candy Canes with bow
