Remembering Patriots

Hello there!  I hope you all had a wonderful 4 day weekend celebrating Mememorial Day for those of you in the United States.  I know I loved the warmth and the sunshine.  I chased my little dog around the neighborhood a few times as he has decided to dig under the fence.  That booger!!!
Sorry that I digressed.  I am truly thankful for our armed forces and service members in this countries and will never be able to repay them for the liberties they fought so hard for.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Today's card I used a new product for me, Vintage Hues Acetate images from Stamp On It.  With this image I used glossy accent and added fine irriedescent glitter to the back or dull side of the image so that when it dries it accents the image.  To adhere the image I then applied art glitter glue on the glittered areas and carefully adhered it to white card stock so that the image would pop.  From there I built my card as normal.

One more thing to make my card make easier I used the Craft-dee Bowz tool to make my bow as it makes the perfect bow every time.  This card looks professionally done, but only took minutes with the help of these two products.  I hope you try them out.   Also... It's not too late to join the May Challenge over at Craft-dee Bowz Challenge Blog!

On Pointe

Hi there!  Joy here with a design team project for Catch The Bug Blog where I am featuring an Oldie, But A Goodie.  I love this cute little brat, Brat Ballerina because she reminds me of a younger me.  My Mom carted me to more ballet and tap dance lessons than I care to remember, and I never found the grace of a dancer.  Despite not being a great dancer, it taught me discipline and that giving up was never an option.  I am so thankful to Mom for teaching me those hard life lessons.

I hope that we all find our younger selves and remember to love her...

We All Have Those Thoughts

Hi there!  Joy here with a challenge from card making/swap card.  Last month's hostess gave us bread clips/tags as a challenge for this month's card.  I really didn't know what to do with these little guys and thought about making embellishments with them, but then found that tall one with help of my friend, Denise and then my idea fell into place.  I had 2 small tags that were red and green, and the third taller one was plain white so I colored orange with a copic marker.  Once I did that I added wiggly eyes and my guys were born.  I dry embossed with a Tim Holtz folder and then used a toothbrush makeup brush to light add Nautical Blue Memento ink to the pannel   I then with a Gelly Roll pen made the sentiment.  This is a pretty simple card, but it says it all.  What do you think?   I'd love to hear your comments.  Have a great day!

Products used:  white/navy blue/white card stock, Navy Gelly Roll Pen, 3 bread clips, Copic marker, Nautical Blue Memento ink, Tim Holtz Squiggly dotted lines embossing folder, hand written sentiment,  Jot wiggly eyes.

Mermay!

Hey there! I couldn't help I had to jump on the Mermay bandwagon.  This image is from Some Odd Girl Stamps and Design who sponsored a coloring class that I participated in through Sweet Sentiment which I think is going to be the next big coloring guru in the card world!  Check her out when you have a chance.

I colored my Mermaid with copic markers and then added glossy accents to her glasses, and of course some sparkle to her tail with Sparkle silk from Fun Stamper's Journey.  I made the back ground with Hero Arts Reactive Sea glass ink and Reactive Sea Salt.  I added Distress Oxide blue print sketch to add depth.  I got this great blend by using Canson XL water color paper and smooshing and spritzing the colors drying between the layers.   I used a stamp and die set from Waffle Flower called Make a Fish, and I used some die cuts from the My Hero Arts March 2019, Aquarium Ocean Fish.  I truly had a blast getting inky and creating today.  I hope you like my card.  If you do, I would appreciate you hitting the follow button!
Thanks, Have a great weekend!

Be Planted in Good Soil

Hello there!  Wow it's May already!  I hope you all have pretty blooms coming up in your yards!  I know I do!  My hubby and I bought quite a few perennials for a new bed in our backyard!  Until I married him, I always had annuals in pots on my front porch, but the gentle giant I married loves flowers and can spend hours pruning.  Thank goodness he loves it so much as my yard is going to be gorgeous!
Today I have a card for you featuring an image from Cute As A Button who is our generous sponsor over at Craft-dee Bowz where the challenge is anything goes with a bow!  The image comes with a sentiment so I printed the entire card front out and then made a cloud background from a scallop shape cut from my Cut n Scan and Distress Oxide ink.  The image was colored with a combination of Copic and Spectrum Noir markers.  Of course, my beautiful persimmon bow was made with my Craft-dee Bowz Tool which makes the perfect bow everytime!  If you haven't tried the tool yet, I encourage you to jump over to the site and grab one!  I have no idea what I did before I owned one of these!  Without further ado...
