Thoughts and Prayers!

Hi there!  I hope you're having a great day? Did you know that there is such a thing as World Wide Light a Candle Day?  I didn't either!  It is on the 9th, but my project is being featured today on Catch The Bug Blog. For this project I used the image Thoughts and Prayers and printed out the image in different sizes to obtain smaller flowers.  I colored the images in the CR family in the Spectrum Noir markers and then fussy cut them 4-5 times for the layers.  I then used a stylus to shape the flowers and make them a 3-D image.  Making flowers is one of my favorites techniques, but I don't do it often as it takes a little time.   This card commemorates a very important person in my life and I think it would have made him happy.
Please jump over to Catch the Bug and see what the design team has in store for you today and then over to Bugaboo for aw my blog too!

Snowy Christmas Mailbox Scene

Hello! It's Joy and I am back with another creation for Patties Creations Design Challenges!  I am so excited to share this scene with you because I can't draw a straight line and I free-handed this lovely background!  I knew I wanted to incorporate a driveway and snowy hills to show off this Christmas Mailbox.  I first attempted with alcohol markers and distress oxides but quickly discarded it.  I then ventured into colored pencils and odorless turpenoid for blending.  I think it turned out well for a non-artist person.  Anyhow,  I then stamped trees and added die cut trees to the hillsides.  I know this appears to be a simple card, but for me it took some time to figure out how to get the depth and dimension. After checking out my card, please head over to the newest challenge and play along!  You can also check out Pattie's other digital items over in her shop!  If you find my antics creative and sometimes funny, please give me a follow too!

Amazing Christmas Grace!

Good evening!  I hope you had a great day.  It's starting to snow here and it inspired me to do a white monochrome card with pops of color!  I adore this die set from Spellbinder's Amazing Paper Grace.  This particular card was from the November 2018 Card kit.  I have looked at all the inspiration out there regarding this set and each one is as different as the next.  I love versatile die sets to build my stash with.  For this card I used 4 layers, the first one was used as a stencil so that I could get an imprint with texture paste and glitter.  Upon inspecting the final outcome, I think I could have skipped this step as you don't see much of it.  I popped each layer with thin foam tape to add dimension and then colored the images in non-traditional Christmas colors. For the card base I used the outline die and left it slightly hanging over a creased piece of card stock.  For the top layer I used iridescent  ivory card stock to add a little sparkle.  I do hope you love it!

Products used:  White cs, iridescent ivory card stock, ranger texture paste, Wow pink glitter, Wow iridescent glitter, Spectrum Noir alchohol markers, Bertech foam tape, art glitter glue, and Spellbinder's Amazing Paper Grace November 2018 die kit of the month set.

Yearly Visit...

Good Morning!  I can't believe it I did say morning!  Typically I am not awake at this hour, but here I am!  I  have a Bugaboo guest design team project for you today which helps kick off their 'Tis the Season for Awkward Holiday Chaos!  The theme for the day is a "flurry of chaos."  Funny, but the image I chose and holiday chaos describes a pretty good portion of my family holidays in the recent past.  We all have that one, that makes it rough for the rest of us.  I am choosing to celebrate this instead of stressing over it.
I encourage you to check out the blog and then hop over to Bugaboo Stamps to start your holiday card making shopping!  I certainly hope you fun with this week full of surprises.  Please stay tuned!

Classic Ornaments

Hi there!  I hope you're having a great Friday?  TGIF!  Thankfully the Christmas season is in full swing and everyone survived Black Friday and Cyber Monday Week!  I'm just now starting to decorate my house.  Unbelievably it takes me approximately eight hours without breaks to deck the halls.  I struggle if I want the house decorated in classic colors or "new" colors.  This year I decided to do one floor in classic colors and the other in new colors.  I hopefully will remember to snap a picture and share it with you.
Today I bring a stamp set by Gina K that stamped several times to get a solid and saturated color and then heat embossed the sparkles.  I chose classy colors with plaids.  I think these cards would be great masculine cards.  Without further ado...

Products used:  Recollections Cranberry cs, black cs, Here  Comes Santa by Photoplay designer papers, white cs, Ribbon 360 in black, Ranger gold embossing powder, Memento inks rhubarb stalk and olive green, red stickles, Sizzix dotted circle dies, brother scan n cut 2, art glitter glue, and Gina K (scrapping for less exclusive) ornaments stamp set.
