Just a spot of color

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I went to a water park and got a little sun.  The weather was glorious and only 81 degrees!  I had good company too, my husband, my son and his girlfriend.  I am so glad I got to share the day with them as my boy is growing too fast.  One of the swaps that I joined is doing a challenge with black/white/grey and a spot of color.  I love these challenges, but wanted to come up with a unique fold.  I decided on this one because I thought it would be great for the holidays and gift card season.  I have a love/hate relationship with gift cards because they are so impersonal.  I am happy that I can at least individualize the card they came.  In this version I made a simple tag that I signed, "thank you for swapping with me."  I hope you enjoy!
2 different card fronts (similar) with the same insides.

Floral Vellum Accordion Card

Hi there I love stainglass windows and was glad to try it on vellum using  bugaboo floral digi stamps.  I happen to love digi stamps because you size them exactly they way you need them.  I learned that when printing with a laser printer the ink can rub off so a small spray of matte krylon will preserve it. I then colored the backside with stampin blends markers. I then scored the pop out accordian insert to decorate the inside.   On the front of the card I dry embossed kraft paper, die cut a stamped square, and popped a circular panel of colored flowers.  A little bottle shimmer spray was added to flourished and added to the card.  I then added a bow for finished looked.  Without further ado hers my lovely cards.

Products used: white cs, Kraft cs, pale green cs, dative trefoil embossing folder, stampin up stampin blends, krylon matte spray, vellum, brother laser printer, foam tape.

A little stardust in the sky

My baby girl, now 26 used to climb out onto the roof when she was a teenager and stare at the sky for hours.  Every once in a while I would join her and we’d imagine where would go if we could fly.  Her dreams were always so magical, and mine were to make her dreams come true.   My girl, inspired these cards today.  I hope you like them.  And don’t forget to follow me.

Blooming Waterfall

Hello there!  I hope you're all having a great day!  I have to admit I really struggled with this card in the beginning.  I had the wonderful idea of watercoloring on printed paper and I loved every minute of it.  However, the score board and I fought a few times during this creation.  Now that my project is complete I laugh, because it is so simple!!!  Do  you ever make things harder on yourself than you have to?  With that said I hope my swap partner enjoys this waterfall card.  I left the insides pretty  blank so that she could either put photos in it or attach ephemera that is special to her recipient. I matted the back of the card so that she would have space to write a message. I hope you love the card as much as I do.

Products used:  White cs, navy cs, teal cs, Altenew Reflections paper pack, Arteza real brush pens, Koi water brush, flat backed pearls, silver twine, versafine onyx black ink, recollections clear embossing powder, wagner heat gun.

Happiness is...

Happy Sunday Everyone!!!

Have you ever thought about the meaning of happiness and what it really is?  I hear all the time, that "I just want to be happy".   As I grow older I realize that happiness is a fleeting emotion and what we are really searching for is joy and peace.  Happiness is like that moment when a butterfly lands on your nose for just a moment and you squeal with delight.   God, I just love those magical moments and hope that all of us have lives full of them.   Can you imagine what our world would like if we all cherished these moments?   I want that world.  Well that is my world.  But my wish for you is one step further, I want joy for you.

Enjoy the Ride!

It's a balmy 90 degrees today and the sun is shining brightly!  I just love days like this!  It reminds me of all the times I spent at Kings Island riding The Beast with my friends.  Which reminds it remains to be my favorite roller coaster of all time!!  When we were waiting in line for hours (at times) we would share potato works fries.  One time I had a friend dump malt vinegar on my fries.  I wanted to ring her neck as I had no money left and my fries were ruined.  But I got over that as soon as I strapped in to the ride. Gosh I miss those days!  I almost forgot my step daughter rode her first roller coaster with ME!  What an honor to have one of her firsts!!

Anyhow the Monthy Hero Arts Kit from July 2018 took me back to those days.  Here's my creation.  Enjoy the ride.  And don't forget to follow me. :)

I am in a challenge on facebook where I received bits and pieces to be used on a card and I have to say I had so much fun transforming this one.  I received rose gold glitter paper, a polka dot design paper, a black and white ribbon ( not used) and a holographic butterfly.  I wasn't excited about the holographic butterfly so I removed one layer from it and used black stazon to make it monochrome and then added gems to it.  But what I think is the show stopper is the glitter butterfly!  I hope that you enjoy the card!  Don't forget to follow me!  Have a super day!!!

Sun Dancing

When I was a little girl I took ballet, tap, and jazz and loving every minute of it.  Admittedly, I was not as talented as I wanted to be, but in my heart I was.  Have you ever had that kind of experience?  My girlfriend recently gave me a picture of a dancing flamingo from coloring-pages-kids and it was me to Tee!  The awkward stance and the knobby knees, and the outfit.  I laughed and knew I had to create a card with it.  I hope you enjoy it.

Products used:  flamingo digital picture, turquoise cs, pink cs, white cs, recollections designer paper, salmon colored ribbed ribbon, yellow enamel dots, nuvo crystal drops in seashell ivory, spectrum noir alcohol markers

My little ladybug!

I called my beautiful (now grown) girls ladybug when they were little.  I have to admit I miss those times, but am so thankful they grew up to be lovely ladies.  My girls were the inspiration for this card, and since Independence Day was here last week, I naturally chose the red, white, and blue colors.  This is my first submission as a design team member for Crafty Creations Challenges, and our wonderful sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.  I chose the Ladybug Fairy Digital Stamp and am excited to share it with you.  I also want to thank Barbara Bruder for inviting me to the team.  Without further ado here is my creation!

Products used:  Santa Fe Garden designer paper, blue cs, red, cs, bugaboo digital stamp, spectrum noir alcohol markers, spectrum noir colored pencils, wink of stella, nuvo drops, white sheer ribbon, and pearl embellishments.

Melty Monday

Don't you just love it when the ice cream truck comes down your street?  For me it brings back childhood memories of pool parties with my friends and long afternoon talks with my bestie on the driveway.  Karen and I would scream with excitement when we heard the truck heading our way.  My favorite were the orange pops and the red, white, and blue bomber Popsicles.   I don't hear the truck too much anymore in my neighborhood, but occasionally it comes back.  It makes me smile seeing all the moms and their kiddos flagging it down. Fortunately, the truck came by this weekend and it spurred me to make some fun popsicle cards.  I hope you enjoy these cards, and that it may inspire you to do the same.

I used die cut tags from Michaels clearance, summer party paper pack, stampin up Sunny Fun stamp set, copper embossing powder, versamark, white cs, and pearl embellishments
