Forever Love

Hello there! I hope you're having a good start to the week!  Today I have a design team inspiration card for Craft-dee Bowz where the challenge for the month is anything goes with a handmade bow.  My card today is a Z-fold card adorn with Heartfelt Creations Lush Lilacs.  You know it took me over a year to comit to buying this set and I have no regrets.  I adore lilacs as they are the first sign of spring in my yard!  I don't have any wedding cards in my stash and thought that was the direction I should take this morning!  I stamped, colored my flowers quickly with a sponger dobber and added a few strokes of copics for pops of colors, then die cut in my gemini and ran the cut flowers through my vagabond in the flower molds.  This card came together pretty quick with those tools.  Speaking of tools, I made that gorgeous bow in seconds with my Craft-dee Bowz tool, if you haven't gotten yours yet, I highly recommend it!

Products used:  white/purple card stock, Heartfelt creation lush lilac paper, Crafters Companion Die-sire Garden Party, Spellbinders Decorative Square Die, Heartfelt Creations Lush Lilac stamp/die/shaping mold, Memento ink bamboo leaves/new sprout/elderberry/lulu lavender/summer sky/, copic markers, Spectrum Noir sparkle pen, white half backed pearl, Versafine ink, Altenew stamp set, Pink sheer ribbon,

I’m curious who is your real life super hero?

The Beauty of Wings

Hello there!  I hope you are having a good day! I am starting to learn that there is beauty in having wings and only when you are free can you grow and live in peace.   My family have been going through a lot of changes and we are finding that the things that we thought were so IMPORTANT are miniscule in the scheme of the universe.  My hubby lives by the motto "if you won't remember it or care about it in a year, don't get worked up by it!"  Gosh he is so smart!  I married him because he grounds me and I give him wings lol.

Today's card is a CAS for me (anyways)and designed for Challenge #392 over at Crafty Creations Challenges.  Our generous sponsor is Morgan's Artworld where the prize will be the same 3 images that design team inspired your with.   I made a background by swiping distress oxides across watercolor paper and then spritzing with water and heat setting.  I colored the butterflies with copic markers, stamped my sentiment and added a few sequins.  Even though this is a simple card, I find it stunning!  I hope you do too?  My prayer for you is that you metamorphasize into your butterfly and find your wings!

Products used:  white cardstock, Canson xl water color paper, Distress Oxide Ink ripe persimmon/mustard seed/dried marigold/abondoned coral, Copic markers, gold irridescent sequins, Versafine Onyx black ink, bertech foam tape, art glitter glue, Brother cut n scan, Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Perspective stamp set, and  F wings Morgan's Artworld Digital Store

Dystopian Humor

Hello there!  I have another card to share with you today that's going to a recipient in my card club.  This month's challenge was use Graphic 45's Sweet Sister-Penny's Paper Doll Paper. For me this was a no brainer to either go with Halloween or pop culture/politics.   I love the show, Handmaid's Tale and so I went in that direction.  I used a Julie Nuttig stamp because it reminded me a little bit of an ex-first lady and I had to add a little satire!  The front panel sentiment is the greeting the Handmaid's use to greet one another, just like Hello.  I thought the postage stamps were perfect for this theme, too...   For the inside sentiment I chose a sentiment also, from the Handmaid's tale.  If you have never had the chance to read the books or watch the show, I encourage you to do so.  In some odd, disturbing way I can see this being the way of the world if we aren't careful. Now for my card... I hope you like it.

Products used:  white/charcoal card stock, Graphic 45 Sweet Sister-Penny's Paper Doll Paper, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Copic Markers, Word Doc sentiments, Penny Black Antique Frames, Distress Oxide ink Vintage photo, Nuvo drops, and Prima-Julie Nuttig Steff stamp.

New to me bleaching technique

Hi there!  I hope you're having a good Monday!  My card today was a project I did with a stamping club I belong, and my crafty friend gave this old technique new life.  She provided an already stamped and heat embossed image and then we used splashless bleach and Q-tip to color the area that we wanted to bleach or change the colors of.  I have tried this technique since then and depending on the type of paper you produce new colors instead of a "white" bleached area.  You should give it a try.  I added Crafter's Companion Sparkle pens in different shades of pink and puple and clear.  I love all the shimmer and am really excited to add this technique to my knowledge base.

Products used:  white/burgandy card stock, American Crafts DIY patterned paper, Stampin up Fifht Avenue Florea retired stamp, rose gold sequins, Clorox splashless bleach,  Spectrum Noir sparkle pens, Versafine ink, Recollections black embossing powder, and Technique Tuesday Say it Hugs stamp set,

Weddings Challenge #159

Good morning everyone!  I hope you're have a great start to your day?  I have design team project for Pattie's Creations Challenge Blog where the theme is Weddings.  I chose blush, mint green, grey, with a dash of burgandy for my wedding colors today.  The colors, maybe aren't traditionally put together but I think the pop of burgundy was a fun surprise.   My actual wedding colors four years ago were navy, pale pink, with a pop of burgandy.  That day still makes me smile like it was yesterday.

My digital image is from Pattie's Creations that can be found on etsy and I colored it with Copic markers and gave it some shimmer with a sparkle pen.  I then made and embellishment with copper metallic card stock using a scalloped circle die and added a simple bow from tulle.  I then decorated it with premade flowers and added it to the card.  My sentiment was used from an unknown author but i think it is beautiful and perfect for a wedding celebration!

Products used:  white/metallic copper/blush card stock, Recollections Sprig & Bough patterned papers, Spellbinders fancy scallop square die, Spellbinders scallop circle die, Hero Arts infinity circle die, white tulle, Spectrum Noir sparkle pen, Bertech Foam Tape, Art Glitter Glue, Brother Cut N Scan, Fun Stamper's JourneyCottage Paper flowers, blush half backed pearls, Sentiment, and Wedding Champagne Glasses

Bobbing Along

Hello there!  I have such a fun image to share with you from Bugaboo for my design team image!  I love this little guy because it reminds of fishing with my grandpa when I was a little girl.  He always put the worm on the hook for me because I was afraid of it, and then I wouldn't touch the fish because it was slimy.  But, boy I caught the fish!   One time we went fishing I must have caught a run of bass because everytime I cast out I caught one.  I don't think my gramps cast his line one time that day.  As I got older I found myself sunbathing in the boat instead of fishing, but it was the time spent that mattered.  To this day If I can catch a ray while on the water with my flippy flops near by I am in heaven!
Back to my card...  My image was colored with Copics and the sky/water was colored with a combo distress inks and copics.  My embellishments are cute little dies from Spellbinders.  I encourage you to hop on over to Catch The Bug Challenge Blog and check out what the other designers have added as they are a super talented group of gals!

Products used:  white/blue/yellow/gold card stock, Carta Bella Practically Perfect Patterned papers, white/ gold floss, Copic markers, Bertech foam tape, white Gelly Roll Pen, Distress Oxides ink tumbled glass/mermaid lagoon, spectrum noir sparkle pen, Spellbinders Lg Standard Circle Nesting circle dies, Spellbinders July 2018 Small Dies kit of month (sun and flip flops),  MFT stitched rectangle die, Scrapping For Less "For the Love of Pets" stamp set, Memento Ink Paris Dusk and Summer Dog Fish

Nuts About Planning- or not

Hello there!  Happy Monday to you! I have a fun Catch The Bug Challenge Blog design team project today.  Twice a year I try really hard to use my planner those days would be January first and June 1st, hence the planner spread!  I really want to love the planner craze as I love scrapbooking and card making, but I just can't do it no matter how hard I try.  My nose is always in my phone so it only makes sense that I put everything in it and it alarms me when I need to be somewhere!  My current planner is a Recollections 2018-19 spiral bound with starter stickers.   I chose it because it is white with black stripes, gold foiling and aqua accents which has been my vibe for a while... and the inside cover says... Live, Laugh, Love.  And that my friends is as far as I have gotten in this thing!!!  Don't laugh at me.   Okay you can!

For my project today I used two images from Bugaboo, of course, Nuts about you-My dad boy and Mini Set- cupcake numbers where I chose the number 9.  I colored the images with a combination of Copic and Spectrum Noir Markers... I know gasp... both on the same page... who does that?  The rest of the spread was a combination of Recollections washi tape and planner stickers from Paisley Prints Co that I ordered a long time ago, but like them... if I used a planner.   So really I am NOT nuts about PLANNING.     By the way I love the song Old Towne Road by Lil Nas X... it's on Iheart as I write this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rD3_WdqfFY........ man I am all over the place today as I create .   Squirrel...  Maybe these Bang drinks my husband is getting me hooked on is adding to my scattered thoughts?  idk?

So finally here we go...

Products used:  white card stock, Copic markers, Spectrum Noir markers, Paisely Prints Co stickers. Recollections washi tape, Recollections Spiral Bound Planner, Blue Glaze Pen, Crayola Markers, Bugaboo Stamps Nuts about you- My Dad Boy and Mini Set- cupcake numbers

Happy Birthday Matey!

Hello there! I can hardly believe it's already June!  Where has the year gone?  I'll be the first to say it!  We are 6 months away from Christmas.... so start that shopping!  As for me I'm going to continue to enjoy the summer and celebrate with this cute pirate from Fabrika Fantasy who is the generous sponsor of Challenge #107 over at Lil' Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge Blog where anything goes handmade!  I hope you take the chance to see what the other designers have come up with and then head on over to Fabrika Fantasy and grab yourself something wonderfully creative!

Today's card is inspired by my parrot that shares my crafty space.  She is a handful, but I love her more than anything!  There are days I think I will end up like a one eyed pirate and others I have a mate for life!  Only if you own bird do you understand what I am saying! lol.

Hummingbird with Texture Background

Hi there!  I am back with another designt team project for Craft-dee Bowz where anything goes with a handmade bow for the month of June!  Our wonderful sponsor is Imagine That Digi Stamps, so please take a minute and check them out!  I happen to love the stamps in the store and can't wait to grab some more!

For today's card I started with water color paper and blended distress oxides and heat set them thoroughly.  I then applied light weight molding paste over a stencil and let it dry. While those were drying I colored my digital stamps with copic markers and dug out a die cut that on online swapper  sent me a year ago in the mail.  I love happy mail!  I apologize, but I don't know the name of the die... bummer because I would like to purchase it.  I am super excited that it was cut from fun foam as it adds even more texture to my card!  I then used my handy Craft-dee Bowz tool to make this beautiful lace bow and then the pink bow.

I did not add a sentiment as I don't have a recipient for it yet, but will add one when the time is right.  Do you ever do that?  Make cards in advanced and then wait for the perfect occasion to send it?  I do all the time!!!   Without further ado...

Products used: white/fuschia card stock, fun foam die cut, copic marker, spectrum noir sparkle pen, Celebrate it Aria white lace, pink 1/8th inch ribbon, Craft-dee Bowz Tool, Canson Xl Watercolor paper, Distress Oxide Inks tumbled glass/peacock feathers/mermaid lagoon, Golden light weight molding paste, Crafter's Companion Grunge Tree stencil, white Gelly Roll Pen, Imagine That-Fuschia and Hummingbird digital stamp
