Give Thanks

Hi and welcome back!  Today I have a beautiful Thanksgiving card to share with you.  This happens to be one of my favorite stamps from Fun Stampers Journey.  For this card, I stamped the image with Dessert sand Memento ink and then colored it with copics.  I added the sentiment from the same set and heat embossed with copper powder.  I mounted it on gold metallic card stock then to a dsp by Gina K designs.  To get that perfect color ribbon, I colored white sheer ribbon with a burgundy marker.  It was very quick coloring, just like you need it to be for the holidays!

Products used: ivory/cranberry/ metallic gold card stock, Gina K Grateful Heart dsp, memento ink, versamark ink, Judikins Copper embossing powder, copic markers, Fun Stampers Journey Bountiful Thanks stamp set. and sheer ribbon.

Christmas Light Scene

Hello and welcome back!  I have a card to share with you today created from Kit and Clowder's Oct/Nov coloring class featuring Lily of the Valley digital stamps.  I believe this stamp was created specifically for the class as I didn't find it available on the shop, but it's not too late to get the class!!!   The day I colored this I was struggling with a few things, so I decided to take some time for me and take the entire class in one day!  I seriously have never done that before, as I typically start and stop frequently, but I easily got lost in ME time!   I learned a lot of new techniques, but also got to practice a few.   I love how Alyce breaks it down into smaller parts of the image so that you only concentrate on one section at a time.  I also love how she reminds you to be mindful of light source and shadows!   I hope you like my first attempt at this adorable scene!

Products used:  white/teak/cranberry card stock, Martha Stewart dsp, copic markers, white gelly roll pen, and Lily of the Valley stamp created for Kit And Clowder

Light of Bethlem

Good morning and welcome to my crafty space.  Today I am sharing my first real attempt to add a background to a stamped image.  I totally borrowed this from Sandy Allnock, because I watched the linked video and fell in love with the stamp and her project.  I will never claim to have talent, and desperately want to be a colorist so I watch a ton of her videos.  After watching Sandy's video and ordering Bethlehem's Light from the Colorado Stamp Co, I decided to give this a try and followed Sandy's video.  My final picture doesn't come close to my inspiration piece, but I will say I had so much fun coloring this image.  I actually made four of these to give to family members.   I'm very shy about sharing this because I don't like to post imperfect projects of my Lord and Savior, so I ask please be kind in your comments.   And Thank You to Sandy Allnock for sharing her art and teachings.

Money Card Holder

Good morning and welcome back to my crafty place.  Today I bring to you a money card holder featuring an image from Pattie's Creations Digital Images.  At my last craft show I had multiple people ask me for money holder cards, so this was my first chance to make one.  This particular card will be for my step mom because she loves candy canes, and it gave me practice for future creations.   This really is an easy project using one 7.5x 7.5 inch solid card stock and then adding dsp papers.  For an additional fun touch I chose to add a belly band where I mounted Pattie's image!  The image was colored with copics and highlighted the Spectrum Noir sparkle pen.
Please take a minute and checkout what the other designers have to inspire you with over at Pattie's Creations Design Challenge where the theme is Anything Goes for the month of November.  Also you should be able to grab a free image over at the blog too... Run... go.... .

Devotional Journal Cover

Hello and welcome back to my crafty space here on the web!  I have recently gotten into bible journaling and traveler's notebooks.  I was super excited to find the Jane Davenport Butterfly Effect Book because it is a blank canvas to make your own art/cover.  I broke out all of my stencils from multiple companies and my acrylic paints and went to town.  This is very much out of my comfort zone as I typically color other artist's images and then add my twist in cards.  What I am finding is it isn't the only place that I am becoming complacent and not stepping out of my comfort zone!  My bible study habits have slipped considerably, as I used to spend at least an hour a day reading and journaling about my walk with the Lord.  Since I tend to be crafty several times a week or more, I invested in the Illustrating bible from Day Spring because it has 3.5 inch margins to journal in.  In addition to that purchase I bought a devotional from By The Well 4 God which includes a written devotional to put into my TN, but also ephemera, stamp set, and book marks.  I am starting with it tomorrow, so I will let you know what I think.   So for today I share the cover...

Pasta Your Birthday

Hello there! Welcome back to my crafty space.  I have a quick card to share with you today for World Pasta Day!  In my opinion it should be pasta day everyday, without the calories to go with it.  Over at Catch the Bug Challenge Blog we celebrate the less well known special days every "Humor Me Wednesday"  and our cards will definitely make you chuckle.  Please head on over there to see what the other designers have for you today.  Like what you see....check out what Bugaboo Stamps has to offer!  It's always a good time with Bugaboo!

My card features, Chef Pierre Spaghetti and is colored with Copic markers and accented with stickles.  My background paper is from a Surprise pack from Tuesday Morning that I am just now getting into.  I love those "surprise" packs because they are often full of things you wouldn't necessary buy and a lot of ephemera too.  I think this checkered paper is perfect for this card don't you?  My sentiment is one that I made up and created in Word docs.   I hope you have enjoyed your time here today!

What's your favorite pasta?  Mine is Manicotti!

Christmas Mayhem

Hello and welcome back to my crafty space.  Today I bring you a design team project for Lil Patch of Crafty Friends where the challenge is Anything Goes that's handmade.   Our sponsor this month is Fred She Said and the winner gets a $10 gift certificate be used in their store!
I chose to make a 5x7inch card for this challenge using Christmas Rosey which I colored with copic markers.  I was particularly drawn to this image, because Christmas usually means Pet Mayhem at my house.  I have stopped putting up anything breakable as at least once in the season, my tree goes tumbling down.  It's always very interesting at my house.
What kind of Christmas madness do you face?

Without further ado here's my creation....

Scandi Christmas

Hello and welcome to my crafty space!  Today's card was created from a stamp set that was gifted to me from a fellow team member and friend, Julie.  I was surprised and blessed by all the goodies she sent me, but I'm ashamed that I am just now crafting with this!  I used the one inch thick embossing folder included with the stamp sent and then lightly inked it with memento inks.  I then layered them in stripes to mimic a Christmas sweater.   As the card was coming together, it seemed more masculine so I decided to use the deer, instead of the bird I originally was going to use.  I think the card came together nicely, and it was so nice to stamp instead of coloring!

Stella Says Sketch-Giraffe

Stella Says Sketch Challenge

Good morning!  Welcome back to my crafty space!  Today I am sharing my dt project for Catch The Bug Challenge Blog where there is a sketch challenge.  My Bugaboo image, Balloon Giraffe is colored with copic markers and highlighted with wink of stella.   I used several patterned papers to accomplish the sketch.  This challenge was a little difficult for me as, I am not good at pairing multiple prints together, but I think it turned out cute.  Instead of using a scalloped edge for one of my layers, I used gingham ribbon to add some texture.  I encourage you to take a minute and see what the other designers came up with and then join in on the challenge.  The new Freebie Friday image is still available in the store as well, so go get yours!  Without further ado...

Spooktacular

Freebie Every Friday!

Welcome back to my crafty space, I hope you are doing well?   Today is Freebie Friday at Bugaboo and it's a cute one!  Take a second to check out the designers' inspiration over at Catch the Bug Challenge Blog and then go get your Freebie!
I colored my image, Have A Spooktacular Day with copic markers.  I used a new technique to me to color Dracula's skin using BV000 and the W's family which give him a ghoulish skin tone.  I learned the from Jammie Clark of Sweet Sentiment.  Basically you use BV000 and in the shadows.  But, if you want to know more take her class... I have a long way to go to learn this technique as this was my first attempt.

Feather Hugs

Hello there!  I hope you're doing well.  Today I am bringing you a set of cards I created with distress oxide blends.  As most of you know, these are my favorite medium and I cannot get enough of them.  I took some time for me today and played with some of my new items recently purchased.  I used my stamp platform and arranged my feather stamp set along my card front and stamped with versamark.  After mass producing them I then heat embossed them in gold powder.  After the embossing, I then blended my distress oxides using an emboss resist technique.   I also, matted the card with gold mirror card stock to add more richness and simply added gold ribbon and sequins.  Let me know what you think?

Thanks for stopping by my little crafty space!

Products used:  white/plum/navy/mauve/gold mirror card stock, Distress Oxide inks, Versamark ink, Ranger Gold embossing powder, Sizzix dotted circle die, Technique Tuesday hugs stamp, Momenta feather stamp set, gold ribbon, and gold sequins.

If you're interested in what blends I used leave me a comment and I will get back with you.  :)

I'm So Far Behind

CTB 2

Good morning!  Today I bring you a project for Bugaboo's New Release, which happens every Tuesday!  Today's image speaks volumes about how my life has been lately.  I am indeed very far behind on a lot of things.  I colored the image with copic markers and used distress oxides to make a background.  I truly feel the image and sentiment speak for themselves so I kept this clean and simple as if I was very behind. lol.   But really I submitted this one early!!!  I just love her sparkle glasses, don't you?

Checkbook Covers

Hello! Welcome back to my crafty space.  I am getting ready for the craft fair season, and haven't shared much of what I will bringing with me this year.  Shockingly, people still use checkbooks or at least the registers!!  Honestly, I was shocked how many responded yes among my friends and acquaintances on Facebook when surveyed.   As I was looking for things to fill in the gap on my table, I thought I'd give them a try!  I've made 10 for my first show and will see how they do.   By the way, this is a great way to use up scraps and ephemera, if you are ever trying to use them up.  I hope you like it.

I'm curiouis, do you still use your checkbook?  I personally use an online version.

As for the products I used:  all were scraps!! Sorry I can't give you the names of the papers.
