I need suggestions.  Here is the first card for the season (despite being June).

Red, White, and Pretty Girl

I was so lucky to be the recipient of a RAK this week.  My friend sent me a lovely stamp set from Sanoro, out of London as well as a pearl strand of embellishments.  There were several other things included as well.  I couldn't wait to get my hands on the new stamp and get a project going for a red, white, and blue card swap.  I colored this beautiful image with Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers.  I think the girl's blonde flowing hair is my favorite.  What  do you like best?

Products used:  Red, blue, white cardstock, Dsp from simon says stamp.  white ribbon, red pearlized gems.

Just a funny story to share.   The first time I met my daughter’s boyfriend we saw a squirrel in the backyard and he went on a tirade about how he hates them and how evil they are.  He was enraged by the thought of them and was bright red. Today is his birthday... I just had to.

Mettalic Fun

My card group meets once a month and we have a them for each and also a tutorial.  The person giving the tutorial brings a challenge piece for us to bring completed the following month.  This months theme is metallic, and the challenge pieces were various glitter paper.  I was excited to work on them this morning and can't wait to share the results!

My first card I did the black ice method over embossed silver card stock  I stamped and die cut the flowers.  I stamped with black memento ink and then embossed the second generation stamping with silver embossing powder.  To continue with the metallic them I finished off the card with a shiny grey bow.

The second card was my challenge card.  I was given black and sliver glitter paper.  I die cut the chandelier with black glitter paper and the multiple layers were printed glitter paper and polka dot glitter paper.  I finished of the card with a black rhinestone and pretty red bow created with craft-dee-bowz.

Stacked Love Letters

I recently found a bunch of love letters my Mom wrote to my Dad while they were in college.  They made my heart melt and I wanted a fun way to celebrate their love and her memory.  I came up with this idea and I hope you love it.

I made envelopes out of various scrapbook card stock, stuffed the letters inside and then haphazardly stacked the envelopes.  Each envelope opens but they are tied together at the top. I then embellished the stack with lace, ribbon, jewels, and wood dies.  To add another special touch I added ephemera between the envelopes and wrote my favorite bible verses and quotes.  I have this on display on my book shelf.

Inner Shadow Box Card

I am excited today after trying a new technique for me, but an oldie.  I made an inner shadow box card and kept with my purple theme from yesterday!  I kept the front of the card pretty simple and plain since the inside is the show stopper!

To make this card I used two pieces of card stock that measure 5.5x 8.5 inches to make the base and frame.  The base card was scored at 4.25 inches as always and then I trimmed a half inch from one side which will be the back of the card.   The second piece of cardstock was scored at .5inch, 4.25 in and 4.75 inches.   Once you use the bone folder you will see how that forms a box.

To decorate the inside of the card I cut out a cloud from my brother cut n scan and used the edges to make a sky blending with distress oxide wilted violet.  I normally would have a blue sky but felt I wanted to explore purple for another day!  I then die cut 2  hot air balloons from Stampin Up's, up and away die set.  One die was cut in silver and the other in purple.   I still have some 6x6 paper left from my SSS June kit so I used the hot air balloon and fussy cut the balloon.  Once the card was assembled I attached the balloon to the underneath part of the frame so it would move as you open the card and appear free standing.

I hope you enjoy this card.  I sent this to a dear friend who's sister has Lupus.  Purple is the designated for Lupus and I wanted to honor my friend.

Here are the pictures!  I hope you like it.

Products used: Purple cs, silver cs, white cs.  purple and pink pearl embellishments, Distress oxide wilted violet, stampin up  up and away die, SSS I love your heart stamp set, SSS designer paper,
and memento tuxedo black black, seashell nuvo drops, art glitter glue, and recollections pink glitter.

Purple Monochrome Exchange

Hello crafty friends!  I hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday!!  I am sharing with you a purple monochrome card I made this morning.  I spend a lot of time on social media meeting great crafters and recently was asked to join a swap that included this card theme with any sentiment I chose.  I accepted this challenge because purple is a challenge for me!  I rarely know what to do with the color purple despite the fact that Prince's song, Purple Rain is one of my favorites.  Without further delay here is what I created.

Materials Used:  White and purple card stock, 6x6 paper from SSS June 2018 kit, Tim Holts Distress Resist spray, Distress oxides in seedless preserves and wilted violet, purple pearl embellishments, and tonic aqua shimmer pen.  Sentiments from MHA March 2018 card kit stamped with Stampin up Rich Razzleberry ink, and the Craft-dee-bowz bow maker.

Graduation 8x8 Mini album

Last night was wonderful for our family.  Our oldest graduated Summa Cum Laude in the top 15% of her class!  We couldn't be more proud of her and can't wait to see how college goes.  MJ, loves black birds and they have been sort of her "handle" on social meeting, therefore I based the book on birds and her class colors.  I did not put any pictures in the album as I want her to make it the way she wants.   I included pull out photo mats inside each page and wells as many tags for her to journal on.  I hope you like the project.  The pictures don't do it justice!  I am learning the photography of projects as much the task of blogging.  Be kind in the beginning!!

Happy Friday! Graduation Day!

Today is an exciting day for my family, our oldest daughter is graduating from high school!  I am so proud of her being in the top 15% of her class and getting into the college of her choice.  I made her a lovely mini album which I will post about in the days to come as I still have a few tweaks, but I would like to share her graduation card.  Just so you know, my girl likes things simple and clean so her card reflects that in honor of her!  As I am the creator of this sentiment I couldn't help but add some silver paper, and gun metal grey glitter paper with glitter ribbon.  I had to sneak me into it somehow!! I hope you like the card and come back to see her book!

Techniques used in this project:  recollections charcoal embossing powder, watercolor, die cutting, lots of layers, tonic shimmer pen, black gems, hand made tassel,
CS:  red, white, black, silver foiled paper, glitter paper
