You are my sunshine

One of my fondest memories as child was my time spent on the beach with my mom and grandpa.  My grandpa used to get it up to watch the sunrise and I’d hear a whisper, “psst” from across the room. We we would tip toe out of the hotel room and went to the beach to watch God’s creation come to life.  I can almost smell the ocean and feel the sand between my toes.
I thought I’d pay homage to my younger years by making a card looking inward to the sea.  I colored my beach girls digistamp found on Etsy with spectrum noir alcohol markers.  I also added shimmer with seashell nuvo drops, gold glitter ribbon, and wink of Stella.

Dreaming of Paradise

Boy, Is anyone else dreaming of a beach vacation?  I know I am!  I was lucky enough to have gone on a Hawaiian vacation last year, and I miss it so much!  It has been unseasonably cool this springn and I am craving some sunshine.   Sometimes you just have to make your own sunshine!   I am super excited that Tuesday Morning had a wonderful clearance rack last week and was able to pick up 12x12 paper packs super cheap.  Included in my find was a pack by Echo Park, Paradise Beach!  I hope you enjoy the cards that were inspired by my Hawaiian Vacation and it inspires you to make your own slice of paradise!

Stepping out boldly

This marks my very first blog post ever in my life!  I have been a "scrap booker" for years, but a year ago broke into card making.  I am by no means confident in my skills, but have a blast trying to create.  This card that I have created means a lot to me, as it is to honor a very special person's passing. Her faith and her love for color exuded from her as this was my inspiration.  I used bold colors and hope that you enjoy them.  Heartfelt creations stamps and dies were used for this card from both the butterfly dreams and sweet peonies collections.  Images were colored with sharpie markers and stamped with memento tuxedo black. Pink, white, green, and preprinted cardstocks were use.

I am submitting this project in my first ever online challenge at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge.  Challenge #82.
The card is also being submitted to challenge# 146 Pattie’s Creations Design Challenge
